Tournament rules



1. Organizer of the tournament is TuS Ennepetal 1911 e.V.


2. All matches will be played in accordance with the rules of the German Football Association (DFB), the Westphalian Football Association (FLVW) and the following rules of the tournament.


3. The eight teams taking part will be divided into two groups of four teams. Group matches will involve each team playing each other once only. A team will be awarded three points for a win, one point for a draw and no points for a defeat.
On completion of all group matches, group rankings shall be determined as follows:

  1. number of points
  2. goal difference
  3. number of goals
  4. score of direct match
  5. penalty shoot-out in accordance with the rules of the German Football Association

The winner and the second placed team from each group will qualify for the semi-finals. The winner of each group will play the second placed team from the other group. The winner of the semi-finals will qualify for the final while the loser of the semi-finals will play for the third place. The third placed team in each group will contest the play-off for the fifth place, as will the fourth placed teams for the seventh place respectively.

If one of the semi-finals, the final or one of the play-offs end in a draw, no extra time will be played. The winner will be decided immediately on a penalty shoot-out.


4. Only players who were born on or after the 1st of January 1991 are allowed to take part in the tournament. However, each team is allowed to use up to 3 players, born after the 1st of January 1990 in the tournament. Every player has to prove his identity and age by presenting an official identity card of his football association (with photograph) or by his passport. Identity cards and passports, respectively, as well as a list of players must be submitted to the organising committee before the start of the tournament.


5. All tournament games last 2 x 25 minutes.


6. In every match four players (incl. the goalkeeper) can be substituted.


7. In addition to the showing a yellow card for a cautionable offence the referee can show a yellow/red card for a second cautionable offence in the same game, resulting in that player being sent off. In case of a yellow/red card the player is automatically banned from playing in the next game. If a player is sent off by showing the red card he will also be banned from playing in the next game and reported to his football association. All yellow cards are eliminated after every single game.


8. All teams have the obligation to take part in this tournament with their best team. The winner of the tournament should feel the obligation to defend the title in the tournament of the coming year 2010 and is obliged to return the challenge cup to the organizer one month in advance.


9. By participating in this tournament every team agrees to the above rules and to accept all decisions of the organising committee.


10. Each team will receive a copy of the lists of players of all other teams.
